iOS 18.3 Beta: Robot Vacuum Cleaner Becomes Part of Apple's Home App
Apple has recently released iOS 18.3 in beta version, which introduces support for robot vacuums in the Home app.
With the new support, users can control basic functions of their robot vacuum cleaners directly through the Home app. This includes:
• Power Management: Turn the device on or off.
• Cleaning modes: Switch between different modes, such as vacuuming or mopping.
• Status monitoring: Check battery level and charging status.
In addition, robotic vacuum cleaners can now be integrated into automations and scenes along with other smart devices. This means that users can create tailor-made routines, such as starting vacuuming when they leave home or combining cleaning with other activities. Siri support also enables voice control, making it easy to ask Siri to start cleaning in specific rooms.
iOS 18.3 is currently in beta and is expected to become available to the public early next year. Users interested in testing the beta version should be aware that there may be bugs and that some features may change before the final version is released.
