Dreame A2

The Dreame company, which is well known for its robotic vacuum cleaners, entered the robotic lawnmower market in 2023 with the launch of its first model, the Dreame A1. This model quickly gained traction, especially in the Nordic countries, thanks to its impressive precision and user-friendly installation. It was precisely the precise cutting and the smooth process of setting it up that contributed to its becoming a blockbuster.

This year, during the prestigious technology fair IFA in Berlin, Dreame presented its sequel — the Dreame A2. This model has received a series of updates and new features that take the user experience to the next level. One of the most prominent novelties is the implementation of OmniSense 2.0, an advanced sensor set that, together with a new front camera, will allow the robot to even better detect and avoid small obstacles on the lawn. This technique is directly inspired by that used in Dreames robot vacuum cleaners, in which the robot avoids furniture and other objects in the home in a similar way.

The installation of the Dreame A2 has also been further simplified. Thanks to the improved mapping technology, the robot can now sense the boundaries of the lawn itself, which means that the user only needs to position the robot and start the process - the rest is handled by the robot automatically. This is yet another similarity to Dream's vacuum cleaner models, where automated mapping and navigation have been one of the main strengths.

Another new feature that stands out is EdgeCut. It allows the cutting disc to move sideways, which means that the robot can now cut grass up to 5 cm from the edge of the lawn, something that has previously been difficult to achieve with many robotic lawnmowers. This improvement means that the user does not have to go after a manual edger, saving both time and effort.

In addition, the Dreame A2 has received an upgraded body. Not only is the new design aesthetically pleasing with an updated color palette, but the material has also been improved to be more robust and durable, allowing the robot to handle tougher lawn conditions and withstand the elements in an even better way than its predecessor.

Mammotion LUBA 2 AWD

The Mammotion Luba 2 AWD is one of the most impressive robotic lawnmowers on the market today. With its all-wheel drive (AWD) technology and advanced features, it's designed to handle even the most challenging gardens, making it ideal for you with hills, steep slopes and bushy shrubs.

The Luba 2 AWD has a robust and Formula 1-like design that immediately gives the impression that it is something different to what we are used to seeing. It is built to withstand harsh conditions with a durable construction that protects against weather and shock. The all-wheel drive technology means that all four wheels can rotate independently of each other, providing unique maneuverability and grip even on rough terrain and steep slopes.

The Luba 2 uses RTK technology to navigate, it also has a 3D camera and infrared sensors to help. Like any other RTK clipper, this one does not need a boundary cable.

The installation of the Luba 2 AWD is relatively simple compared to many other models on the market. It comes with a user-friendly app that guides you through each step of the installation process. The app also offers extensive customization options, allowing you to schedule clippings and adjust settings right from your smartphone. It also has GPS control that allows you to track its position in real time.

When it comes to clipping performance, the Luba 2 AWD really impresses. The four-wheel drive motor allows the mower to easily navigate both flat and uneven ground, as well as handle gradients up to 80% which equates to roughly 38°. The cutting width is extra wide with the two parallel discs, and the adjustable cutting height between 25-70 mm allows you to adapt the cutting to your needs.

Safety is always a priority when it comes to robotic lawnmowers, and the Luba 2 AWD does not disappoint in this area. It is equipped with several safety sensors that prevent collisions and lifting, as well as a safety function that turns off the blades if the lawn mower is lifted off the ground. This ensures that both children and pets are protected when the mower is in operation.

Like many other robotic lawnmowers on the market, the Luba 2 also has mowing zones, transport routes, no go zones, rain sensor and scheduling. Other nice features that the Luba 2 has are, for example, a solar panel powered RTK antenna and the ability to upload images in the app to be able to cut a pattern or logo.
