Roborock Qrevo

Roborock has now expanded its range in the mid-size segment with the Q Revo, an incredibly capable robot vacuum cleaner. It is a wise strategy from Roborock to first launch its flagship S8 Pro Ultra at a price that is approximately SEK 6,000 higher and then follow up with the Q Revo, which in technical terms almost reaches the flagship level. Although there are some technical differences between them, the result they deliver is not that markedly different. Moreover, taking into account the price gap between them, Q Revo becomes the superior choice. The Q Revo obviously offers all the advanced features we recognize from Roborock's top models, including Lidar, obstacle avoidance, auto-lift-able mop, and self-emptying, among others. The base unit is slightly higher, but at the same time it holds a whopping 5 liters of water. The mop cleaning is carried out with a new type of base plate that requires minimal maintenance and, above all, eliminates the need to change parts, which differs from, for example, the S8 Pro Ultra and S7 MaxV Ultra.

Roborock E5

The Roborock E5 is the long-awaited sequel to the Roborock E4, and although it does not reach the same level as the more advanced Roborock models, it does have its advantages. Unlike the more expensive models from Roborock, the Roborock E5 does not use LiDAR technology for navigation in your home, which makes it significantly more affordable. If you don't need advanced features like virtual demarcations and room mapping, Roborock E5 might be the perfect choice for your home.

It is important to note that the Roborock E5 works best in homes without too many obstacles. In a smaller apartment with open spaces and smooth floors, this robot vacuum cleaner can really come into its own. Because it does not have LiDAR navigation, it cannot detect or avoid obstacles in the same way as its more expensive siblings. That's why it's important to make sure it has a clear view and a clear path to follow.

A handy accessory that comes with the Roborock E5 is a remote control. This remote control makes it easier to control the vacuum cleaner directly, especially if you do not want to use advanced scheduling or other advanced features. This is a feature that is missing in many of the other Roborock models.

The difference between the Roborock E5 and the Roborock E4 is relatively small, with the main difference in the form of a slightly more powerful suction effect on the E5. The question that arises is whether there are other options in the same price range, such as the Roborock S6 Pure, that perhaps offer a better balance between features and performance.
