The Dreame company, which is well known for its robotic vacuum cleaners, entered the robotic lawnmower market in 2023 with the launch of its first model, the Dreame A1. This model quickly gained traction, especially in the Nordic countries, thanks to its impressive precision and user-friendly installation. It was precisely the precise cutting and the smooth process of setting it up that contributed to its becoming a blockbuster.

This year, during the prestigious technology fair IFA in Berlin, Dreame presented its sequel — the Dreame A2. This model has received a series of updates and new features that take the user experience to the next level. One of the most prominent novelties is the implementation of OmniSense 2.0, an advanced sensor set that, together with a new front camera, will allow the robot to even better detect and avoid small obstacles on the lawn. This technique is directly inspired by that used in Dreames robot vacuum cleaners, in which the robot avoids furniture and other objects in the home in a similar way.

The installation of the Dreame A2 has also been further simplified. Thanks to the improved mapping technology, the robot can now sense the boundaries of the lawn itself, which means that the user only needs to position the robot and start the process - the rest is handled by the robot automatically. This is yet another similarity to Dream's vacuum cleaner models, where automated mapping and navigation have been one of the main strengths.

Another new feature that stands out is EdgeCut. It allows the cutting disc to move sideways, which means that the robot can now cut grass up to 5 cm from the edge of the lawn, something that has previously been difficult to achieve with many robotic lawnmowers. This improvement means that the user does not have to go after a manual edger, saving both time and effort.

In addition, the Dreame A2 has received an upgraded body. Not only is the new design aesthetically pleasing with an updated color palette, but the material has also been improved to be more robust and durable, allowing the robot to handle tougher lawn conditions and withstand the elements in an even better way than its predecessor.
