Design and comfort
One of the best features of the Space One Pro is their “FlexiCurve” design, which allows the headphones to be folded together into a compact shape, facilitating storage. This design consists of a five-piece headband, which reduces size by up to 50% when not in use. We had hoped for a compact hardcase to store the headphones in but unfortunately we have to settle for the bag that comes with it. The headphones are equipped with generous padding around both the headband and ear cushions, which contributes to a comfortable fit even during longer listening sessions.
Sound quality and noise reduction
Space One Pro is equipped with 40 mm elements that deliver a sound with a clear emphasis on the bass frequencies. For users who prefer a more balanced soundscape, this can be perceived as a bit overwhelming. Fortunately, the SoundCore app offers a customizable 8-band equalizer, which allows adjusting the audio profile according to individual preferences.
The Active Noise Reduction (ANC) uses a four-step process with six microphones to effectively reduce ambient noise. While it doesn't reach the level of market-leading models, it performs well enough to handle low-frequency noises such as engine noise. An adjustable transparency function is also available, allowing ambient noise to be let in when necessary.
Connectivity and features
The headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 and offer multipoint connectivity, which means they can be connected to two devices at the same time. For Android users, there is support for the LDAC codec, which allows high-definition audio transmission. Keep in mind that you cannot be connected to more devices if you want to use LDAC and this will also affect battery life. A 3.5mm audio cable is included for wired listening, but it's worth noting that the USB-C port is only used for charging and not for audio transmission.
The SoundCore app offers a range of features, including customizable EQ settings and the ability to adjust the intensity of both ANC and transparency modes. An “Easy Chat” feature automatically lowers the volume when the user starts talking, facilitating conversations without having to take off their headphones.
HearID
With HearID, you undergo a hearing test to determine what different frequencies you can hear and not, you also get to listen to some music and compare different settings. With this information, the app can help you create a personalized EQ setting. We don't know exactly how it works, but the result was good.
