Owlet draws attention to sudden infant death during the month of October

Every year, 3,000 children die in the United States alone from sudden infant death. Owlet is raising this important topic now in October during SIDS Awareness Month. Which, of course, we want to pay attention to. Owlet participates in the research by donating 5% of all purchases made on Owlet.com during the month of October. You can also donate money directly to the organization through their website.

Sudden infant death is a tragic event that takes the lives of more than 3,000 children annually, in the United States alone. Despite this serious problem, there is still a lack of adequate education, funding and attention paid to this global health problem. Owlet strives to ensure that no baby dies unexplained during sleep and therefore wants to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as well as actively support research in the field.

During SIDS Awareness Month, Owlet partners with parents worldwide in their mission to put an end to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. A valuable alliance has formed with two committed moms who have experienced the loss of a child to sudden infant death themselves: Dr. Carmel Harrington and Elisha Palmer of the Knox Blocks Foundation. Together they work hard to raise the necessary funds, support research and inspire action that will lead to positive change.

Dr. Harrington, who tragically lost her son to SIDS 30 years ago, has made a momentous breakthrough in research. She has identified a potential biomarker in infants who passed away in sudden infant death. This has opened the door to the next phase of her team's work. This will make it possible to establish which infants are at a higher risk of sudden infant death. The ultimate goal is to develop and make preventive controls available to all infants worldwide. This research has never been more important, and because funding for it is insufficient, action is urgent.

In celebration of SIDS Awareness Month, Owlet has decided to donate 5% of the value of every purchase on owlet.com made throughout the month of October to this important cause. This initiative is one of many steps being taken to raise awareness, support research and save the lives of infants from sudden infant death.
