Matter Support for Philips Hue Bridge
The implementation of Matter for Philips Hue has been in the works for a while. Now is finally the time. But how will it go?
If you own a Philips Hue Bridge, then everything is clear! With the new software update, Matter is automatically activated. All Philips Hue products work with Matter when connected to your Hue Bridge.
You can now enable Matter in the Hue app's settings. An advantage of using your devices via Hue Bridge is that even non Matter certified devices can be accessed in e.g. The Apple Home. This allows you as an Apple user to connect slightly cheaper devices such as lamps from Innr and IKEA.
Matter is still fairly new and not quite perfect, so be prepared for the fact that some things that worked in the past may no longer work as intended.
