WiZ plans to launch colored filament lamps

WiZ, which is part of Signify, is taking a step ahead of Philips Hue and will soon release three new filament bulbs capable of showcasing 16 million colors, in addition to various shades of white. This means that it is now also possible to create colorful environments with filament lamps.

The colorful effect is most likely achieved through an additional LED wire sitting next to the LED wire responsible for the different shades of white. The filament lamps have a brightness of 470 lumens and consume 6.3 watts. The Wiz lights are not connected via Zigbee; instead, they connect directly to the Wiz app via Wi-Fi. After they are paired with the app, they can be easily customized and controlled from the mobile phone.

Detection over WiFi

An interesting feature that they also support is SpaceSense. By detecting the slightest interruptions in the Wi-Fi signal when a person is moving, the lights can automatically turn on when desired, without the need for a motion detector

It is only a matter of time before Philips Hue also launches similar products on the market, but until then WiZ can offer colorful filament lamps for those looking for a different lighting effect. The lights should come with support for Matter.
