IKEA Releases Dirigera Update

IKEA has recently released an update for its Dirigera hub that extends support for the Matter standard to more devices. With the new software update, seven new device types gain support for Matter, meaning users can now integrate smart sockets, blinds, remote controls, motion sensors, contact sensors, air purifiers and air quality sensors into their Matter-compatible smart homes.

This update builds on the limited beta program launched earlier this year, where Ikea initially only provided Matter support for lighting. Now Ikea's Matter compatibility covers almost their entire current product range, with the exception of some devices such as the Badring water leakage sensor.

Users who already have a Dirigera hub and have signed up for Ikea's beta program will automatically have their existing devices upgraded to Matter after installing the latest update. This makes Ikea a stronger player in the smart home market by offering a wide range of affordable and versatile devices that are easy to integrate with other systems that support Matter.
